I am a random web developer

I grew up in Upstate New York, in the Finger Lakes region. Growing up I played a lot of basketball, golf and computer games. I did not spend a whole lot of time studying, but I did well in school. From a very young age I was interested in dissecting electronics to see what was inside and how they worked... my family can attest to this. After high school I attended the Rochester Institute of Technology and majored in Information Technology.

My experimentations in web design started when I was fourteen years old. I created a very popular Star Wars fan site that was ranked the #1 Star Wars fan site by Yahoo and was featured in Yahoo Life magazine. Since then, I have always been actively involved and interested in web development and learning internet technologies. After a brief stint as an intern at a leading web development company in the area, I became my high school's "webmaster" and worked in the internet department at my family's telecommunications company.

"My colleagues consider me one of the rare developers that can program complex applications while also retaining a highly creative eye for detail in design."

I have been freelancing sporadically for about ten years. In May of 2005 I started my current full-time position as an Information Architect at SoFla Web Studio. My job allows many opportunities to work in different facets of the web development process. Over the years, I have been lucky to gain experience in putting together proposals, business requirements documents, site flow diagrams and wireframes. I have even more experience with user interface, design and HTML/CSS build-outs. Finally, I have programmed applications in PHP, ASP, and ASP.NET for dozens of projects over the years. My colleagues consider me one of the rare developers that can program complex applications while also retaining a highly creative eye for detail in design.

I am a meticulous and organized person with exceptional attention to detail. Do-it-your-selfer would be putting it mildly, in describing my work ethic. Sometimes it can be to my detriment because I will go too far without seeking assistance, sometimes to the point of obsession. But I consider myself a natural problem solver and a very resourceful person.

I live near Charlotte North Carolina with my wife Emily. I enjoy watching movies, logging onto Xbox Live, going to the lake and playing a round of golf.
